Our Story

A living bridge between Italy and Santa Cruz

The Dante Alighieri Society of Santa Cruz has been a cornerstone of Italian cultural life on the Central Coast for over five decades. Named after the great Florentine poet whose Divina Commedia reshaped Western literature, our society exists to keep the Italian language and heritage alive and thriving in our community.

Located along the vibrant waterfront, we offer more than language classes — we create a space where Italian art, music, cinema, and cuisine come alive. Our certified instructors bring passion and expertise to every lesson, and our community events draw together Italians, heritage learners, and curious newcomers from all walks of life.
